Admissions Policy

Adult & Child Ratios

All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult (at least 16 years old).

The safety of non-swimmers* and children is the responsibility of the supervising adult in attendance at all times. When supervising, the adult must maintain a constant watch over the children and be in close contact with those that are weak or non-swimmers.

General Admission Rules

Persons who appear to be under the influence of drink or drugs will not be allowed to enter the water or take part in activities.

All non-swimmers must wear armbands unless closely supervised on a one-to-one basis by an adult who can swim. Those wearing armbands are restricted to the designated shallow areas at all times (except during BPL's swimming lesson scheme).

Swim nappies must be worn by all babies and children who are incontinent or not dry throughout the day. Standard nappies are not suitable or appropriate. Swim nappies may be purchased at Reception.

All bathers should shower and use the toilet prior to entering the pool. This includes babies / children as well as adults.

Smoking is not permitted in any of our facilities.

The use of any equipment capable of recording still or moving images is strictly prohibited without prior permission of Centre Management.

Any persons whose behavior is deemed inappropriate by Centre Management will be removed from the centre. Any incidents of this nature should be reported to Centre Management and be reported to the police.

Disabled Access

Swimmers, parents or guardians are advised to communicate to pool staff on arrival of any disability that may affect them so that we can best support them in the waterpark.

Current or recent illness including respiratory problems, infection, digestive upset and rashes are indications that you should not swim. Any person with a recent history of diarrhoea (i.e. within the last 14 days) should not swim.

Clothing & Equipment

All swimmers should wear acceptable swimwear. Cut off jeans or other clothing, baggy shorts beyond knee length or transparent costumes are not permitted. Tee shirts may only be worn for medical reasons or at the Duty Officer's discretion.

Jewellery should be removed before entering the pools.

Masks, flippers and snorkels are not allowed into the pool during public swimming sessions.

Calypso Cove Flumes & Features

When the wave machine is in operation, ALL non-swimmers* must wear armbands.

All riders on Eruption must be at least 1.2m tall.

Eruption and Terror Torrent are vigorous rides and are not suitable for pregnant women and people suffering from the following: heart problems, epilepsy and back problems.

All customers using the diving boards or riding Eruption must be able to swim 50 metres.

*The definition of ability to swim is defined as the capacity to swim a recognised stroke unaided for a minimum of 50 metres (2 lengths) and tread water for a minimum of 1 minute. In order that lifeguards can effectively monitor the supervision policy, customers may be asked to demonstrate their swimming ability – we are grateful for your co-operation in helping us to assure your safety.
